Pretoria, June 30, 2026. —Ambassador Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo received South African Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Blade Nzimande, at the Cuban Embassy.
During the meeting, the friendship between the two countries was highlighted, and the current situation in Cuba was explained, amid the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States. The minister reiterated South Africa’s unwavering solidarity during thesedifficult times.
The occasion provided an opportunity to review the items on the bilateral agenda regarding science and technology. At the same time, both parties reaffirmed their interest in promoting and increasing cooperation in this area. The Cuban ambassador expressed his gratitude for the South African government’s support.
