Member of the Embassy of Cuba was honored with the Medal 60th Anniversary of Yacht Granma landing

Coinciding with the 122th anniversary of Grito de Baire, an action that marked in 1895, the beginning of the decisive stage in the insurrectionary struggle against Spanish colonialism, the Cuban Embassy in Tehran organized a simple but solemn ceremony to honor the Diplomatic Attaché, Justo Rosabal Mejías, with the commemorative medal of the 60th Anniversary of the landing of Granma yacht and the Day of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR).

In his speech during the ceremony, Ambassador Vladimir González Quesada recalled the events related to this gesture that represented a milestone in the glorious and fruitful history of Cuba. He also emphasized that this award was being handed out two months and 29 days after the physical loss of the leader of the Cuban Revolution in contemporary times, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, one of whose feats motivated precisely the recognition being conferred.

Vladimir said that with the delivery of the medal they were complying with Agreement No. 5487 of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba.

For his part, the Attaché, after receiving the award, took the floor to thank its grant and said that he felt committed to being more revolutionary and anti-imperialist. He also stressed that one of the best examples to be followed by new generations is the case of the Five Heroes of the Republic of Cuba: Gerardo, Antonio, René, Fernando and Ramón.
