Canberra, 1 May 2024. Members of the Inner Wheel Club of The Hawkesbury, Australia, travelled to Cuba to bring solidarity donations, especially medicines and other supplies for the children in the paediatric ward of the Oncology Hospital in Havana.
Under the coordination of Alison Newton and Julie Boden, the Australian friends began their trip by meeting the Cuban softball team, an encounter that turned out to be very fortuitous.
In Cuba, they had the support of ICAP and the “A Cuba hay que quererla” project.
They also had the opportunity to visit the University of the Arts. One of the members of the group is an academic from Macquarie University in Australia.
The friends in solidarity had a rewarding experience from their trip to Cuba.
