Washington DC, 25 September 2021.- Solidarity and unity of the peoples are of vital importance in these difficult times, the Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, stated during a meeting with members of the Cuba Solidarity Movement in the United States.
The meeting, which took place at the diplomatic headquarters of the Caribbean nation in New York, provided a space to thank the work done by friends of the island to raise funds and send 6 million syringes to support the vaccination campaign against COVID-19.
Rodríguez Parrilla also thanked the Movement for its efforts to counteract the campaign to discredit the island and its support for Cuba's right to self-determination.
During the meeting, Cheryl Labash, Co-chair of the National Network on Cuba, presented the Minister with a symbolic poster of the All States campaign, an initiative that succeeded in registering demonstrations against the #Blockade in the 50 continental US states.
The All States initiative, held prior to the annual vote on the "Necessity of Ending the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade Imposed by the United States of America" report, demonstrated significant support from the American people for the Cuban people, highlighted the participants.
Cheryl Labash, on behalf of those present, ratified the will to continue working for the dissemination of the truth and for the end of the unjust blockade against Cuba.
They also discussed the work for the adoption of eight local resolutions this year against the #Blockade and in favor of medical collaboration between both countries.
The Cuba Solidarity Movement in the United States is currently involved in several campaigns to send medicines and food to Cuba, those present pointed out.
The cordial atmosphere in which the meeting took place corroborated the friendly ties that unite the peoples of Cuba and the United States.
