Message from the Ambassador of Cuba to the people and Government of Mongolia for the new year and the 65th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 2024, broadcast on the UBS and MNB TV channels

At the end of the year 2023 I wish to greet the Mongolian people. This has been a challenging year, but it has been an economically successful year for Mongolia.

In this sense, I congratulate public and private entrepreneurs, the President, the government, the workers and the Mongolian people for their successes and I wish them new successes in 2024.

In September 2023, Cuba had the honor of receiving the visit of the President of Mongolia, U. Khurelsukh. It was a successful visit that, as a result of it, Cuba decided to increase the number of free scholarships that since 1963 it has granted to Mongolian students to study at Cuban universities.

For Cuba it has been a year of great challenges due to the continuity of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.

In this sense, I want to thank once again the assistance of the Mongolian government and people to Cuba for the damage caused by natural disasters and in particular their vote in favor of the resolution against the blockade in the United Nations General Assembly that for more of 30 years has been approved, this time with 187 votes in favor and 2 against.

On January 1, 2024, Cuba also celebrates the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution that eradicated illiteracy and guaranteed for the first time, among other things, free access for all to quality health and education.

We hope that next year will be better for all the people of our countries and we wish new successes to the Mongolian government and people.

I wish you all a Happy New Year's Eve and a prosperous New Year and new successes in 2024.
