Havana, March 12, 2019.
Year 61 of the Revolution.
Dear friends:
The Cuban Revolution, under the internationalist leadership of Fidel Castro, remained genuinely along with the Africans in the fight against racism and colonialism in Africa.
Solidarity, that feeling and attitude that magnifies men has kept our peoples and nations united. Cuba and Africa, Seychelles and Cuba, united in these noble sentiments, strengthen their historic bonds of friendship with the actions of the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in this sister nation.
United by the common struggle for the right to development of our peoples, because we are also countries surrounded by the sea, affected by climate change, the Republics of Cuba and Seychelles arrived at the 41th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, signed on 12 April 1978
Since then we have been developing the bonds of friendship and cooperation, among our peoples and we have supported as a whole, the most just causes that have affected the developing world and the planet.
About 40 thousand young Africans have been trained in the most diverse specialties in Cuba, a country that cooperates with more than fifty nations of that continent.
We highly appreciate the support of the African countries in the fight against the economic blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, both from governments and civil society, and in particular the support at the General Assembly of the Nations.
The movements of solidarity with the Cuban Revolution constitute a strong bulwark to face the powerful media campaign unleashed by imperialism against the Revolutionary Government.
Let’s use this space to continue denouncing the hardening of the US blockade against Cuba, the illegal naval base that the United States maintains in Guantanamo.
We exhort you to continue supporting the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela, the former Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, the cause of the peoples of Palestine, the SADR and other fair causes.
From the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and the African Cuban Friendship Association (AACAF) we are very happy for the creation of this Friendship Association, an instrument that will be of the greater importance, to get to know us better, to be united by a world of peace and equity. United we’ll triumph.
A hug.
