Messages of comradeship and good fortune from Baltimore to Cuba.

The bonds of brotherhood between Cubans and Baltimoreans, as well as the impact of the economic sanctions imposed by the United States on Cuba were topics discussed at the Sunday Mass at the Hunting Bridge Presbyterian Church, during an exchange between parishioners and a representation of the Cuban Embassy in Washington D.C.

During the meeting, the First Secretary of the Cuban diplomatic mission, Javier Levy, also addressed the socioeconomic consequences of Cuba's inclusion on the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism, as well as the limitations imposed by the sanctions against the island to the detriment of the exchange between the religious communities in both countries.

The liturgy dedicated to the friendship between the Hunting Bridge and Santa Fe churches, the latter located in Sagua la Grande, Cuba, included a cultural space with Cuban overtones when at the beginning the notes of the Guantanamera were played on the old organ of the church.

The Pastor and spiritual leader of the Church, Deborah McEachran, praised the values of fellowship, cultural humility and co-development that should prevail in the friendly relations between both peoples. In her prayers, she wished the Cubans good fortune.

The Presbyterian Church has been present in Cuba for more than a century and plays an active role in solidarity with Cuba from the United States.
