Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba meets with Cubans residing in the US

New York, United States, September 29

On Thursday night, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, met with a representation of Cubans residing in the United States, within the framework of the activities of the Cuban delegation attending the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Cuban foreign minister deeply appreciated the dissimilar messages of condolences, offers of help and donations sent by the compatriots residing abroad, especially from the United States. In this sense, he highlighted with deep pride that Cuba can count on the majority of its children and descendants, regardless of distances or circumstances.

During the meeting, the will to continue expanding and strengthening ties with our compatriots abroad was reaffirmed; a continuous and irreversible process that began with the Dialogue of '78, whose 45th anniversary we will celebrate in December 2023.

He also ratified the decision to hold in Havana, as soon as conditions allow, the IV Conference of the "Nation and Emigration".

Likewise, the initiatives and efforts of various kinds that Cubans abroad, mainly in the US, are leading in the fight against the blockade were recognized.

According to the Cuban foreign minister, the participation of Cubans residing abroad in socio-economic development marks a new and fruitful stage in the ties with Cuba.
