MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF SAN VICENTE AND THE GRENADINAS REAFFIRMS THE ENERGETIC CONDEMNATION OF HIS COUNTRY TO THE ECONOMIC, COMMERCIAL AND FINANCIAL BLOCKADE IMPOSED BY THE US. ON CUBA FOR ALMOST 60 YEARS

The Ambassador of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vilma Reyes Valdespino, was received in audience by Sir Louis Straker, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Commerce of the sister Caribbean nation.

In the fraternal meeting the Chancellor condemned, in the strongest terms, the US blockade against Cuba and reaffirmed that, like every year, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will support the Cuban Resolution "Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S against Cuba ", which will be put to a vote in the General Assembly of the United Nations on October 31st.

The official also ratified the position of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in favor of the return to Cuba of the territory, illegally occupied by the Guantánamo Naval Base.

The parties, which endorsed the excellent state of relations between Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, addressed a broad spectrum of bilateral issues, including the smooth progress of collaboration, as well as the prospects for its expansion and diversification.
