Minister of Youth and Sports of Iran extols potential cooperation with Cuba.

Mr. Masoud Soltanifar, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Islamic Republic of Iran, received Ambassador of Cuba Alexis Bandrich Vega, with whom he exchanged on the current state of relations in that area and the encouraging prospects for cooperation between both countries. Minister Soltanifar dedicated praise to the quality of Cuban trainers who have served in his country, to the people of Cuba, to the sporting results of the Revolution and to his most outstanding sportsman, Commander in Chief Fidel.
During the XVII Session of the Cuba-Iran Intergovernmental Commission, held in Havana at the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Iran signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation of Cuba, with the goal of developing bilateral relations and cooperation in the field of sports, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding.
For his part, the Ambassador of Cuba reiterated the invitation to Minister Soltanifar to the VII Convention of Physical Activity and Sports to be held in Havana in November of this year, which was grateful to the Iranian minister, who confirmed that his ministry prepares to attend to the appointment. The meeting was held in a cordial and fraternal atmosphere.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sports news agency of Iran Borna News, made a television interview to the Ambassador of Cuba in which the wide possibilities of cooperation in which we work together were highlighted again. The Cuban diplomat denounced the impact of unilateral sanctions by the United States on the development of Cuban sport and the will of our people to continue resisting them, winning and achieving better results every day in this sphere.
