The Ministers of Justice of Cuba and Mongolia met yesterday in Havana and signed two Agreements for the Provision of Reciprocal Legal Assistance

The Minister of Justice and Deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Oscar Silvera Martínez, met yesterday in Havana with the Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs and Parliamentarian of Mongolia, H.E. Mr. Enkhbayar Battumur.

The dialogues with the Mongolian Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs and the Ambassador of this nation in Cuba, Zoljargal Seseer, also included the intention to work on a memorandum of understanding for cooperation on specific tasks.

Among them, they highlight the preparation of specialists and the exchange of information and experiences, which allow us to appreciate good practices and advances in terms of legislative activity, digital transformation and registration, the minister of the Caribbean nation stressed in statements to the Prensa Latina agency.

The Ministers of Justice of Cuba and Mongolia also signed two Agreements for the Provision of Mutual Legal Assistance in Civil and Commercial Matters and in Criminal Matters, respectively. The Cuban minister declared that the country is advancing in its international relations in the legal field.

He pointed out that the above is part of the process of updating the legal system and judicial reform that is implemented on the island and mentioned as examples the working visits to Vietnam, Cambodia, Russia and the collaboration with structures common to the MINJUS such as the Colleges of Registrars. In these areas - Silvera explained - Cuba completes around 30 bilateral agreements with various nations of the world, ratifying the United Nations agreements on international drug trafficking, corruption, organized crime, human trafficking, terrorism, among others and in full correspondence with the responsibility of the judicial system in compliance with the laws of the country.
