The President of the Mongolian Women's Association, Ms. Oyungerel Batnasan, expressed her organization's interest in strengthening ties with the FMC and the National Center for Sexual Education (CENESEX) of Cuba in matters of Comprehensive Sexuality Education Policy, the advancement of women, the National Program for the Advancement of Women of Cuba and other strategies and policies.
This interest was reciprocated by Dr. Mariela Castro Espín, Deputy of the National Assembly and Director of CENESEX, in the framework of their meeting on the occasion of the recently concluded World Forum of Women in Ulan Bator.
Mariela Castro Espín conveyed to the President of the Association the greetings of Teresa Amarelle Boué, Secretary General of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and of the Council of State, at the meeting with the President of the oldest Mongolian women's organization and other leaders of the organization.
Likewise, Dr. Mariela Castro congratulated the Mongolian Women's Organization for the celebration this year 2024 of the centenary of its foundation and expressed satisfaction with the progress of Women in this country. She also explained the extensive process of popular consultation and the progress in the rights of women and girls and families of the new Cuban Constitution of 2019 and the new Family Code and the willingness to share these experiences.
The President of the Mongolian Federation thanked Dr. Mariela for attending the World Women's Forum; she explained the structure and main programs of her organization, as well as the important challenges that women face in her country.
The Cuban deputy also explained the negative effects of the unilateral economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States against Cuba, particularly on the lives of women and girls, sexual and reproductive health and care for victims of sexual violence.
