National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia interested in Cuban experience.

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. October 27, 2018. The Head of the National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia, Major General T. Badral, held a meeting last Friday with the Cuban Ambassador Raúl Delgado Concepción where he expressed the interest of this government agency to hold exchanges with the Cuban counterpart to share experiences in disaster management due to natural disasters.

In the meeting held at the Embassy of Cuba, Major General T. Badral stressed his admiration for the experience acquired by the Cuban Government in confronting the natural phenomena that continuously hit Cuban territory such as hurricanes and floods. The efforts made by the leadership of the Cuban Civil Defense have made possible to minimize the deaths in the population during the passage of these natural phenomena through the Cuban territory, as well as the care and safeguarding of the main economic and social resources of the population, noted the Head of the Mongolian agency.

Cuban Ambassador for his part thanked the interest and recognition of the Mongolian side and explained that the Cuban organizational model and methodology is already used in several Central American countries where these natural phenomena are very frequent and where every year cause significant material damage and lives to the populations of these countries. The results of the work on Civil Defense of Cuba have been recognized internationally by the principle that the most important in a situation like this is to preserve human life and protect the country's resources, as well as subsequent efforts in recovery of the affected areas.
