Belgrade, March 12, 2025
Dear comrades,
We wish you a successful organization of the Coloquio Patria, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the founding of TeleSUR. Your event is of exceptional importance for all leftist, progressive, and anti-imperialist forces, as it discusses the methods of our struggle, with the media being a vital part of it. This year, we celebrate an important milestone— , which stands as a beacon of light in the global media darkness.
We are also aware of the challenges faced by Cuba and Venezuela. Both countries have been victims of shameless sanctions imposed by imperialism led by the United States. The hypocrisy of the U.S., the largest sponsor of terrorism in the world, is evident in the fact that it even placed Cuba on the list of countries that sponsor terrorism. Cuba and Venezuela are examples of how the U.S. seeks to bring free nations and peoples to their knees and enslave them.
Members of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia understand the meaning of wars and sanctions. Our country was a victim of sanctions by Western imperialism and the wars that broke up Yugoslavia. Afterward, our people were divided and occupied by NATO. Serbia, surrounded by the NATO alliance, represents, in a symbolic sense, an "island of freedom" and defiance in the struggle against Western imperialism.
We, who understand what sanctions mean, have a special duty to stand in solidarity with you. The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia expresses particular solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela in their fight against the genocidal sanctions imposed by the U.S. and Western imperialism.
A special greeting goes to Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of Cuba, one of the leaders of the free world, who will open this crucial event.
