This morning H.E. Patricia Lazara Pego Guerra, presented her Letters of Credence as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotenciary of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Botswana.
H.E. Lieutenant-General Dr. Seretse Khama Ian Khama, president of the Republic of Botswana offered her a pleasant welcome and particularly praised Cuban cooperation in Health, which last more than 30 years.
During the meeting both sides talked about the bilateral relations, together qualified as excellent, and expressed the political will to continue working to strengthen, deepen and expand those bonds, in benefit of their respective peoples. The ceremony, held at the Office of the President, took place in respectful and cordial vibes, with the attendance of the Honorable Dr. Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi, minister of International Affairs and Cooperation; Ms. Daphne Kadiwa, the President Chief of Protocol; and Ms. Tebogo L. Motshome, director of Europe and Americas of the Foreign Ministry.
Previously, the Cuban Ambassador presented the Copies of her Letters of Credence to the Honorable Minister Dr. Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi.
In December 2017 Cuba and Botswana will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
