The Ambassador of Cuba to the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Angel Gustavo Suarez Cordero, was received on the morning of May 7, by the new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Andreas K. Kakouris.
At the meeting, both sides acknowledged the historic ties of friendship between the peoples and governments of Cuba and Cyprus and exchanged on possible politico-cultural actions to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the excellent bilateral relations next year.
During the fraternal meeting, the Cuban Ambassador explained to Mr. Kakouris the economic difficulties his country is going through due to the negative effects of the unjust and inhuman blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years and the also unjust inclusion of Cuba in the spurious list of countries sponsoring terrorism. The diplomat also expressed the gratitude of the Cuban people and government for the historic support of Cyprus in the demand for an end to the blockade (EmbaCuba Cyprus).
