From Nicosia, they present the 5th Edition of the “Viva Cuba Fiesta” Festival in Episcopio, Cyprus.

Nicosia, Cyprus, June 24, 2026. - The Embassy of Cuba in Cyprus, in coordination with the dance school “Caliente Dance Studio", the Pan-Cypriot Council for Peace, and Bishop Isaías of the Sacred Metropolis of Tamassos and Oreini, presented this past Tuesday the 23rd the 5th Edition of the annual “Viva Cuba Fiesta” Festival in Cyprus.

The event, already established as a cultural gathering of a philanthropic and supportive nature, essentially promotes the values of Cuban dance, music, and cuisine; like every year, it will open its doors at the cultural venue of the aforementioned Metropolis of Tamassos and Oreini, this time on the night of the upcoming July 3rd.

Its main organizers, the Cuban resident Dayana Torres and George Christodoulou, professor and director of the aforementioned dance school, respectively, confirmed organizational details and the event programme, which – by all appearances – will strengthen the presence and cultural legacy of the Caribbean island in the Cypriot summer events calendar, with the special dance performance by the host school, titled «Mi Amor Cuba – A Journey to the Soul of Cuba».

An event that will include performances from other dance schools participating in the festival, photography exhibitions, live music, and various proposals that will take the audience on an imaginary journey through the nature, traditions, architecture, people, music, dance, and diverse iconographic marks of the largest of the Antilles.

A festival designed to interconnect cultures, assets, and examples of solidarity among peoples, whose charitable conception will allow raising funds for the purchase of medicines and medical supplies or humanitarian aid in general to support the activities of the Juan Manuel Márquez Paediatric Hospital and the Sociocultural Project “Cabildo Quisicuaba", both institutions in the Cuban capital.

An endeavour valued for the humanistic, intercultural, and solidarity-driven nature of the event, highly praised in the respective words of Bishop Isaías, Metropolitan of Tamassos and Onerini, and the Cuban Ambassador to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez.

Just to convey the essence of this event celebrating love for Cuba, its culture, and its roots, the Caribbean diplomat paraphrased a quote from the most universal of all Cubans, José Martí, who said that love for art refines the soul and enflames it. What is being built with “Viva Cuba Fiesta V” is nothing other than strengthening the pleasure of beauty, of embracing grand ideas, and exalting and sharing values of solidarity between Cypriots and Cubans from this beautiful island in the eastern Mediterranean.
