Dublin, January 28, 2025. In front of the Cuban embassy, representing the Communist Party of Ireland, its General Secretary, Jimmy Corcoran and other colleagues from its national leadership symbolically presented the ambassador, Bernardo Guanche Hernández, with a check for 5 000.00 euros, as proof of its solidarity with the Cuban people who suffer the consequences of the intensification of the North American blockade, the unjust inclusion of Cuba in the List of Countries Sponsoring Terrorism and damage caused by hurricanes “Oscar” and “Rafael”.
The Head of Mission thanked the Communist Party of Ireland for the gesture of solidarity with his country; aware of the effort it takes its members to achieve a contribution like this. He also said that the Cuban Revolution constitutes an example of firmness and defense of socialist principles in the midst of difficult historical circumstances, which is why it must continue to be defended.
He explained that this type of contributions help the country allocate funds to prioritized objectives and thus alleviate the consequences of the criminal North American blockade and the permanence of Cuba on the unjust List mentioned above.
