Officials of the Cuban Embassy in South Africa pay tribute to the Cuban Revolution historical leader

Pretoria, August 31, 2019.- The officials of the Embassy of Cuba in South Africa paid tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, in the Long March to Freedom Museum Park, in the Gauteng province, where a statue of Fidel stands next to prominent fighters and South Africans personalities like Nelson and Winnie Mandela, Oliver and Adelaida Tambo and Walter and Albertina Sisulu.

This outdoor sculptural ensemble is located about 80 kilometers from the capital Pretoria and includes statues of some 100 personalities that contributed significantly to the liberation of South Africa. The figure of the Commander in Chief, made of bronze and real size, shows him in his olive green uniform, and carrying the national flag.

Fidel is one of the few non-African personalities that has a statue in this park of the heroes of South Africa's struggles for freedom and against Apartheid.
