One year of the cooperation agreement with Cuba for the constructive recovery of Dominica.

Roseau, June 14, 2019. The "Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Cuba and the Ministry of Housing and Lands of the Commonwealth of Dominica for the constructive recovery of Dominica" after the passage of Hurricane Maria, was signed June 14, 2018, one years ago. For this reason, the Ambassador of Cuba in Dominica, Ulises Arranz Fernández, held a meeting with all the members of the Builders Brigade that are carrying out reconstruction work in this sister country.

At the meeting the Ambassador highlighted the main results that the brigade has had, among which are the restored the roof to 13 buildings of the college of Dominica, known as "State College" and the restoration of the lighting of 6 buildings of that teaching facility, the repair of the ceilings of 4 elementary schools, the recovery of 153 homes in which the majority completely lost their roofs, the assembly of more than 350 lights in the streets of country and the roof and paint of the stadium stands that are located in the botanical garden in the city. They are currently doing a capital repair of a basic secondary school and continue repairing the roofs of the houses.

The meeting was held at the place where the builders reside, and was attended by the Head of the group, Ing. Juan Antuch Suarez and the 74 members of the brigade, whom the Ambassador congratulated for the results of the work and for the image of solidarity and friendship that they have left in Dominica.
