Dominica, Roseau. August 13, 2022. A letter signed by the President of the House of Assembly of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Honorable Josepht Isaac, on behalf of the parliamentarians and his own behalf, was sent to the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Ulises Arranz Fernandez. The letter expresses the solidarity of the House of Assembly to the Government and people of Cuba, for the fire that occurred at the Supertankers base of Matanzas, as well as condolences for the human loss and the disappeared. Dear Excellency Fernández
I write on behalf of the Members of Parliament and on my one behalf, as Speaker of the House of Assembly in the Commonwealth of Dominica to extend sincere condolences to the people and Government of the Republic of Cuba on the passing of one fire fighter and the fourteen (14) others are missing in the worst fire in Cuban history, which, according to the News Reuters, destroyed 40 % of its main fuel storage facility in Matanzas and caused massive blackouts.
Your Excellency, we feel your pain and stand in solidarity with you at this time, as you face one of the most trying and difficult period of your existence as a Republic.
Rest assured that you have our continued support and pray that this most difficult trial will be subsided.
Once again, please extend my deepest sympathies to the Government and people of the Republic of Cuba
