Pastors for Peace speak about the Cuban reality at public events in the United States

As of April 15, the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO) Pastors for Peace, commenced a tour of a number of important communities in the United States to speak about the Cuban factual reality and demand the lifting of the blockade imposed on the Island. 

These speaking tours will end on April 30 and include educational talks with diverse audiences in over fifty cities of thirty US states. 

In a similar event held on April 22 in Washington D.C., attended by the Cuban Ambassador to the United States, José Ramón Cabañas Rodríguez, IFCO Executive Director, Gail Walker reaffirmed the Pastors for Peace’s commitment with Cuba and stressed the importance of the actions they carry out for much remains to be done, despite the changes in the relationship between both countries. 

Likewise, the Cuban Ambassador reaffirmed in said event that despite positive steps have been taken in the bilateral relationship with the United States, this is an inconclusive process in which work remains to be done, particularly in the pending issues that hinder the normalization process of relations, including the unjust economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed on Cuba for over 50 years. 

IFCO’s speaking tours of cities in the United States will take place prior to their 28th Caravan of Pastors for Peace to Cuba, which will be on July 11 through 28 and is intended to visit the cities of Havana, Matanzas and Villa Clara.
