Pianist Alejandro Falcón honored to bring Cuban music to Mongolia

Havana, Aug 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuban pianist and composer Alejandro Falcón today expressed satisfaction for sharing the rich rhythm of the island's music at the Jazz Festival of the Giant Steppes of Ulán Bator, the Mongolian capital.

It is always an honor for me to take Cuban music to all possible places in the world and work to put it up, the virtuous young man told Prensa Latina, thanking him for the opportunity to participate in the event scheduled for August 25-28, in its thirteenth edition.

As in every place that is presented, the founder and leader of the Cubadentro quartet will offer the public a tour of the musical diversity of the Greater Antilles, passing through the rumba, the danzón, the chachachá and the mambo.

 

The festival in Mongolia hosts local and Cuban artists, Laos, Poland, Russia, Switzerland and other countries, and includes after its three days of presentations a concert opened on August 29 in the northern city of Erdenet.

Falcón has a wide repertoire of works such as La bibijagua, Obbá Meyi, Vidas Cruzados and Monk in new town, recorded in their albums Claroscuro, Cuba Now Danzón, Mi monte spiritual y Vidas Cruzados, the first two deserving of Cubadisco awards on the Caribbean island
