Canberra, August 27, 2019. The President of the Australian Baseball Federation, Mr. Cam Vale, will carry out a working visit to Havana from August 26 to 31.
Prior to his departure to the island, Cuban Ambassador Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez, met with the Australian manager at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy to exchange about his visit and the program of activities to be developed there, while highlighting its importance in the field of bilateral sports ties and on the occasion of commemorating this year the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Australia.
As part of its visit, Cam Vale will have meetings with sports authorities and executives of the Cuban Baseball Federation, as well as the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding that will establish the basis of bilateral cooperation in this sport, which will include among other aspects: the celebration of games between the national teams of both countries; the possibility of hiring Cuban athletes to play in the Australian Professional Baseball League and technical advice from Cuba in Baseball 5.
