President of Cuba holds meeting with U.S. businessmen

Cuba is open to strengthen and strengthen dialogue and trade relations with any country in the world and particularly with the United States, provided that the dialogue is based on respect for sovereignty and integrity; a dialogue where there are no unilateral positions of force, said President Miguel Díaz-Canel, during an exchange with U.S. and Cuban-American businessmen.
The president thanked the businessmen for their visit to Cuba in connection with the business forum convened by the Chamber of Commerce of the island.
Díaz-Canel told those present that the Caribbean country is in an extremely complex moment due to the tightening of the blockade, which since the end of 2019 Cuba has had to face, as well as the consequences of the inclusion in the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
In the same vein, he referred to the moments experienced during the pandemic and the obstacles faced during that period as a result of that policy. At those moments, he added, Cuba showed its creative resistance.
The businessmen, who belong to sectors such as agro-industry, transportation, logistics and information and communication technologies, will dialogue until October 28 with Cuban economic actors to identify possible alliances, in the midst of the limitations imposed by the blockade.
