The President of Cuba and the Group of 77 plus China (G77), Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, officially welcomed the President of Mongolia, His Excellency Mr. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and his delegation at the Revolution Palace the day of his arrival to the island.
After reviewing the honor guard and listening to the national anthems of both countries, the two Presidents presented their respective delegations and later met.
The Cuban President published that both “…confirmed a common will to continue strengthening bilateral relations and multilateral coordination” and that “there is potential to expand economic, commercial and cooperation ties for the benefit of both peoples.”
Present on the Mongolian side were, among others, the Minister of Education and Science and Member of Parliament, His Excellency. Mr. Luvsantseren Enkh-AMGALAM and the Directors of Multilateral Cooperation and Protocol of the Foreign Ministry.
On the Cuban side, among others, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency. Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Parilla and the Deputy Minister, Hon. Mrs. Josefina Vidal Ferreiro.
Mongolian press media reported that the President of Cuba accepted the invitation to visit Mongolia and stated that Cuba will continue to increase the free scholarships it has provided for many years to Mongolian students.
According to Mongolian press reports, the Heads of State of the two countries discussed expanding relations and cooperation, including the development of relations in the fields of medicine, biotechnology, culture, education, agriculture, organic and natural products, physical activity and sports, increased student exchange and other matters of mutual interest.
