As part of the celebrations of Africa Day, the Government of South Africa organized several activities, in which Cuba was present.
At lunch organized to the Diplomatic Corps on May 25, on the occasion of the important date, President Cyril Ramaphosa expressed to Cuban Ambassador Rodolfo Benítez his commitment to the continuous strengthening of the historical relations of brotherhood and solidarity between Cuba and South Africa.
The South African leader also reiterated his congratulations to Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez for his recent election as President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, as well as his heartfelt condolences for the unfortunate aviation accident that has shaken the Cuban people. On May 19, President Ramaphosa sent a message of solidarity to his counterpart Diaz-Canel on the occasion of the tragic plane crash.
