President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez held today in New York City, a cordial meeting with leaders of various Christian religious denominations in the United States.
Díaz-Canel thanked them for their expressions of solidarity and highlighted the initiatives developed by several religious organizations in favor of a respectful and constructive relationship between Cuba and the US and against the economic blockade.
In March of this year, some twenty US religious organizations urged President Joseph Biden to remove Cuba from the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism and to lift the restrictions that affect the humanitarian work carried out by the Church for both peoples.
Díaz-Canel participates in this meeting as part of the program he is carrying out in the framework of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which Cuba is attending as president of the Group of 77.
