Dublin, November 25, 2020. Comrade Caoimhin McCann, president of the youth organization “Ogra Sinn Fein” participated in the International Youth Meeting "Ideas that are Flags", convened by the Union of Young Communists of Cuba.
After thanking the UJC for the invitation to participate in this event, McCann recalled the legacy of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, on the fourth anniversary of his physical disappearance, highlighting that his ideas and example have been and will be a source of inspiration for the peoples of the world. He assured that Fidel's example as an anti-imperialist guerrilla will endure.
The Irish youth leader recalled that Cuba and Ireland are islands that have long fought against imperialism, highlighting the Cuban resistance against the US blockade.
McCann also expressed appreciation for the humanitarian work deployed by the Henry Reeve medical brigades in the confrontation of Covid-19 in multiple nations, ensuring that no other organization deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for 2021 in the same degree.
