THE PRESIDENT OF THE PARLIAMENT OF CYPRUS RECEIVES THE CUBAN AMBASSADOR.
Cyprus. - March 5, 2018. The President of the Parliament of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Dimitris Syllouris, received the Ambassador of Cuba in the country, Omar Leyva Rafull, at the headquarters of the Cypriot assembly room.
In this context, the diplomat of the Greater Antilles took the opportunity to thank the support and cooperation provided by that body to Cuba, while he conveyed the greetings of the President of the Parliament of his country, Esteban Lazo Hernandez. On the other hand, specific information was provided on the implementation of the Cuban economic and social model of socialist development, and the progress of the elective process that is being carried out in the Caribbean island was abounded.
For his part, the Cypriot parliamentary leader described the relations between both countries as excellent and updated the ambassador on the situation that has arisen in the context of the territorial problem of his country, particularly in the Exclusive Economic Zone.
Both parties stressed the importance of working to strengthen existing links at the parliamentary level, as well as cooperation in areas such as health, sports, biotechnology, tourism, among others.
