Minsk, October 22, 2019- The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, begins an official visit to the Republic of Belarus on Tuesday.
During his stay the Cuban president will hold official talks with the Hon. Mr. Aleksandr Grigórievich Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus and will carry out other activities.
Upon arrival in Belarus, the President of Cuba was received with flowers, bread and salt; a tradition of the Slavic peoples that celebrates the visit of an important, respected or admired personality.
During the official visit of the President of Cuba through the "Gran Piedra" Industrial Park, he learned about the experience of the European country and the possibilities it offers for trade, cooperation and investment.
This is the second visit that the Cuban Head of State makes to the European country, now as President of the Republic of Cuba.
Cuba and Belarus established diplomatic relations on April 14, 1992.
