Pretoria, 24 July 2026 — The Cuban Embassy in South Africa today held a fruitful meeting aimed at promoting and consolidating bilateral academic exchange programmes between the two countries. The event brought together representatives from various South African universities, specialist travel agencies and Embassy officials, with the aim of identifying specific opportunities for educational cooperation, student mobility and the development of joint research projects.
During the event, the strengths of the Cuban education system were highlighted, including its faculties of medicine, basic sciences and humanities, as well as opportunities for scholarships, postgraduate programmes and research placements.
