Maseru, November 16, 2023 - The Cuban Ambassador to the Kingdom of Lesotho, Enrique Orta González, met this afternoon with the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, National Security and Environment of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Samuel Ntsokoane Matekhane.
The Cuban diplomat conveyed greetings from the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and reaffirmed the Cuban government's willingness to promote bilateral relations for the benefit of both peoples. He also thanked the Prime Minister for his words of support against the blockade at the last high-level debate of the 78th session of the UN.
For his part, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the presence of Cuban collaborators in the Kingdom, as well as for Cuba's support in the training of Basotho professionals. He also reiterated his country's support in the fight against the criminal blockade imposed by the US government.
