Kingstown, July 14. A few hours after their departure, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves and other members of his cabinet received at the Official Residence the Cuban collaborators who are members of the Henry Reeve Brigade and who are returning to the Homeland with their duties fulfilled.
In his words of gratitude, the Vincentian leader recalled the internationalist feat of our people, recalling passages from our presence in Africa, the decisive role in the end of apartheid and the ever-present legacy of the Commander in Chief.
The Prime Minister highlighted the Cuban solidarity with the Vincentian people, which goes back to 2001 and exemplified these gestures of solidarity in the construction of the international airport, Operation Miracle, the professional training of dozens of young people and the permanent presence of a Medical Brigade that contributes to guaranteeing the precious treasure that is health.
In another part of his words, he extolled the example that imperialism cannot forgive and condemned the campaign orchestrated by them that seeks to discredit the essentially humanitarian and solidarity-based work of our doctors, nurses and health workers. The Caribbean leader reiterated his support for the proposal to award the Nobel Peace Prize to the Cuban Medical Brigade "Henry Reeve".
In wishing them a happy return to our country, he reiterated his gratitude to Army General Raúl Castro and President Miguel Díaz Canel for their permanent solidarity and assistance to his country and all Caribbean nations.
In the moving ceremony, which was attended by other members of the Cabinet and all Cuban collaborators, the Minister of Health, Luke Browne, and the Cuban Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, José M. Leyva Ventura, also took the floor. They thanked for the hospitality received and ratified the indestructible nature of the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity between both peoples and governments.
