Basseterre, January 25, 2022: The Prime Minister of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Honorable Dr. Timothy Harris, received on Tuesday morning the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, David Rivero Pérez, at the seat of the Government of this brotherly country.
The Caribbean Prime Minister welcomed the Chief of Mission, who begins a new period of work on this island. At the same time, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the signs of affection towards Cuba and renewed his interest in continuing to foster the ties that have historically united both nations.
During the meeting, the solidarity and brotherhood that unite the peoples and governments of Saint Kitts and Nevis and Cuba were also highlighted, and the will to continue strengthening cooperation in areas of common interest was ratified by both parties.
The Honorable Dr. Timothy Harris expressed his gratitude for the traditional Cuban collaboration in the health sector, and in particular for the contribution made by the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade, which worked in Saint Kitts and Nevis for a year and a half in the fight against Covid-19.
Finally, the Prime Minister reiterated the invariable position of his government against the blockade imposed by the United States and guaranteed that Cuba will always have its support for this cause.
