Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and Ambassador of Cuba ratify ties of brotherhood between their nations.
Basseterre, November 5, 2025- As part of the farewell activities of the Cuban Ambassador, David Rivero Pérez, after four years of work in this Federation, meetings were held with the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, in which the bonds of brotherhood between the two nations were ratified.
The first meeting at the headquarters of the government of the Federation was the space aimed at reviewing the state of bilateral ties, strengthened during the last four years, with the expansion of cooperation in health, education and construction. Likewise, both parties reiterated the willingness of their governments to continue advancing in projects of mutual benefit.
The Cuban diplomat took the opportunity to thank St. Kitts and Nevis, on behalf of its people and government, for the signs of friendship, respect and recognition to Cuba during more than three decades of relations that unite them; and for the unwavering support in the fight against the hostility of the U.S. government against Cuba. Also, in his own name, for the hospitality and support by the local authorities, during his stay in St Kitts.
At another opportunity, the Prime Minister and his wife, Diani Prince-Drew, were received at the Cuban diplomatic headquarters, where, in a fraternal and relaxed atmosphere, they discussed, among other topics, the closeness of Dr. Drew with the people of Cuba and his unforgettable experience during his stay in Villa Clara as a medical student in this province of central Cuba. He highlighted the kindness of the people who welcomed him, recalled part of the culture and traditions that for several years he adopted as his own and some musical and culinary preferences that have accompanied him since then.
Ambassador Rivero and his family will soon return to the homeland, not only with the satisfaction of having fulfilled their duty, but with the affection, gratitude and recognition of an entire nation that from now on and forever, is also part of them.
