Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis meets with Cuban diplomats and health professionals.
Basseterre, May 3, 2023: Within the framework of the commemorations of the 28th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and St. Kitts and Nevis, and the 60th anniversary of international Cuban medical collaboration, an emotional meeting took place at the headquarters of the Government of this Federation, between the Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Terrance M. Drew, the diplomatic staff of the Embassy of Cuba and members of the Cuban Medical Brigade.
The meeting, held in an affable atmosphere and camaraderie, was convened by the Prime Minister of this Federation, to commemorate the upcoming anniversaries. According to him, this meeting will serve to inform the people of St. Kitts and Nevis, via press and other media, of the important celebrations. He took the opportunity to express his gratitude for more than two decades of collaboration, mainly in the area of health and expressed his satisfaction over Cuba's permanent contribution to the well-being of the people of the Federation.
Ambassador David Rivero, for his part, conveyed gratitude for the support of St. Kitts and Nevis, in the fight against the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than 60 years. He also extended his recognition beyond government institutions to friendship associations, graduates in Cuba and Cuban residents, for their support over the years. Likewise, he reiterated the commitment of the Government of Cuba to continue collaborating with this sister nation in any necessary front.
The occasion was also propitious to welcome to the Federation the four health professionals who recently joined the Cuban Medical Brigade.
The Counselor of the Embassy of Cuba in Basseterre, Ivón Tomé Flis, and the Chief of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Dr. Odalis Abreu Guirado, also participated.
