Kingstown, March 13. In the presence of Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves, several members of the Cabinet, government officials and a representation of collaborators and Cubans residing in that sister nation, the farewell ceremony of our country's ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines was held.
In his words, the Vincentian leader highlighted the excellent ties of friendship and collaboration between both nations, recalled his close friendship with Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and Army General Raúl Castro and the magnificent relationship and closeness with Cuban President Miguel Díaz Canel.
He also highlighted different moments in the relations between the two nations, highlighting the Cuban solidarity aid for the construction of the Argyle International Airport, the hospital in Georgetown and the presence of dozens of collaborators in health and construction, noting that their "work is highly appreciated and necessary for the people of Vicenza".
In the same vein, he highlighted the two visits made by Cuban President Miguel Díaz Canel in December 2022 and in the recently held VIII Summit of Celac. He took the opportunity to congratulate Ambassador José Manuel Leyva Ventura and his wife for the successful performance of their duties in more than four years.
In his words of thanks, Ambassador José Manuel Leyva Ventura highlighted the permanent support of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in its condemnation of the US blockade and the unjust inclusion of our country on the list of states that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
He also reiterated his congratulations to the authorities and the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for the successes achieved at the recently concluded VIII Celac Summit held in this sister nation and highlighted the brotherhood and indestructible nature of our relations.
