Pro-Cuba Voices Resound in the White House

With a massive march in front of the White House, the day of solidarity carried out by the National Network of Solidarity with Cuba in the United States culminated.

This Sunday's demonstration, in which participated representatives of more than a hundred organizations and social movements, showed the feelings of the Americans and their fellow countrymen living in the United States for the largest of the Antilles.

The participants demanded the end of the coercive measures that weigh on the Caribbean nation, as well as the elimination of Cuba from the spurious List of Sponsors of Terrorism.

The presence of young people defending the truth about the island and demanding an end to the unjust blockade was notorious.

Among the activities carried out during these days were the lobbying sessions in Congress, the projection of audiovisuals, the holding of a prayer vigil and the demonstration, through art, of the feelings towards Cuba.

They also highlighted the panels and talks in which members of the Cuban embassy in Washington D.C. participated.  The second head of the Cuban Mission in the United States, Alejandro Pila, reiterated in one of the meetings the damage caused by the blockade to the Cuban people, as well as the immorality of the designation of the island as a state sponsor of terrorism. The Cuban official thanked the support to the Caribbean nation and commented that they will continue to fight for social justice.

The day of solidarity with the island was supported from more than 30 U.S. cities and other parts of the world.
