Qatar Fund for Development Announces Donation to Cuba for Hurricane Relief.

(Doha, December 8, 2025) – The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) announced a donation of US$4.5 million to Cuba to support Cuban authorities' efforts to improve essential services for the population in the areas of health, education, and food production, following the impact of hurricanes on the country.

This aid will be implemented through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). An agreement was signed yesterday during the Doha Forum between Fahad Hamad Al-Sulaiti, Director General of the QFFD, and Alexander De Croo, UNDP Administrator.

Separately, both entities are currently coordinating the implementation of another aid package in response to the recent damage caused by Hurricane Melissa in eastern Cuba.
