Ralph Gonsalves received a Cuban medical brigade in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, received at the foot of the stairs a medical brigade from Cuba that will contribute with this southern Caribbean nation to face the Covid-19 pandemic.

With applause and exclamations of "Viva Cuba and Viva Venezuela", the Vincentians expressed their gratitude and admiration for the arrival of the Health personnel of the Major of the Antilles, who arrived in a plane of the Venezuelan airline Conviasa by virtue of the solidarity and collaboration links between the three nations.

The Prime Minister, several members of his cabinet and the head of the Venezuelan Mission, Francisco Pérez, welcomed the Cuban medical brigade. In his words, the Head of the Vincentian Government thanked Fidel and Raul's Cuba for this gesture of solidarity. He also conveyed his gratitude to the President, Miguel Díaz-Canel, whom he described as continuing the work of our historic leaders.

The Cuban ambassador, José Manuel Leyva Ventura, said that this brigade is a small show of solidarity left by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, "who taught us to take health and education around the world.

"The Vincentian people await you with much love and affection and for us it is a motive of pride and revolutionary satisfaction to wait for you here," the ambassador said to the mission composed of 16 members: five doctors and 11 nurses.
