Ireland, September 13, 2017. Ireland's President Michael D. Higgins received at the Presidential House in a farewell audience at the end of his Mission to Cuban Ambassador Hermes Herrera.
President Higgins expressed his solidarity with Cuba over the serious damage caused by Hurricane Irma as it passed through the north coast of the island.
The ambassador emphasized the persistence and impact of the United States' economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, expressing its appreciation for the repeated Irish vote against it at the United Nations General Assembly.
During the friendly dialogue was recalled the recent presidential visit to Cuba, found mutual satisfaction for the favorable development of bilateral ties and reiterated the will to continue expanding them, as corresponds to peoples with strong ties of friendship. (CUBAMINREX-EMBACUBAIRLANDA)
