Representatives of the main political parties in Dominica attend an event in Cuba of solidarity and against neoliberalism.

Roseau, November 2, 2019. Representatives of the two main political parties in Dominica: The Dominican Labor Party and the United Workers Party (DLP and UWP), participate in the "Anti-Imperialist Meeting of Solidarity for Democracy and Against Neoliberalism." This event is being held at the “Palace of the Conventions” in Havana, Cuba, between November 1 and 3, 2019. 1200 delegates from 95 countries attend to the event.

The Vicelider of the DLP, government party, George Ambrose, who is also the Ambassador of Dominica to Venezuela, assists on behalf of his Government and his Party; while Mr. Clarkson Thomas does so on behalf of the UWP, the main opposition party, as a member of its Central Committee and the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs of this Party.

The initial day held yesterday, November 1, 2019, was chaired by José Ramón Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Esteban Lazo, president of the National Assembly of Popular Power and the Council of State.

The event was convened by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the Central of Workers of Cuba, the Cuban Chapter of social movements and the Continental Working Day for Democracy and against Neoliberalism, with the aim of articulating the realization of permanent actions , systematic and intensives, condemning the aggressive escalation of yankee imperialism against the Cuban people, through the "Hands out of Cuba" campaign; contribute to the wider unity with respect to the diversity of the left and the progressive parties and forces, of the social and popular movements that unite them, to defeat the imperialist offensive that seeks the restoration of neoliberalism; as well as militant solidarity with the just causes defended by the peoples.
