"It was with deep sorrow that we learned of the attack that took place on March 22 in a cultural center in the Moscow region, with a regrettable loss of human lives and numerous wounded," wrote the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, in the book of condolences exhibited at the Russian Embassy, on the occasion of the grotesque terrorist act against the Crocus City Hall concert hall.
He reiterated his condemnation of this act that has caused so much pain and suffering to the Russian people, convinced that the unity of the Russian Federation will not be shattered, Prensa Latina reported.
He expressed the deepest condolences of the Cuban people and government to the families and relatives of the victims, and the wish for the speedy recovery of the wounded.
The Head of State stressed that the Russian people and government can always count on the solidarity and support of the Caribbean nation. In this regard, the diplomatic headquarters of the Slavic giant sincerely thanked the friendship, solidarity and support of Cuban friends.
The president was accompanied by members of the Political Bureau Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power; Manuel Marrero Cruz, prime minister, and Salvador Valdés Mesa, vice president.
According to the latest official data, the terrorist attack caused 143 deaths and some 200 wounded. So far, 11 people involved in the attack have been arrested, including the four attackers who opened fire at Crocus City Hall.
