Second edition of the Ibero-American Film Festival arrives in Cyprus.

The embassies of Brazil, Cuba, Peru, Portugal and Spain are pleased to offer, once more, a taste of their cinematographic culture to Cyprus as they will host the 2nd Iberoamerican Film Festival with the cooperation of Cervantes Institute of Nicosia and The Friends of the Cinema Society.  

The opening film will be “Boy and the World”, a 2013 Brazilian animated coming-of-age adventure film written and directed by Alê Abreu, which it will be screened at 20:00 at CineStudio of University of Nicosia. Following the screening, guests are invited to enjoy a cocktail gathering with food and drinks.

The remaining films will be also available for viewing at 20:30 at the same location on the following dates:

May 23 – Spain - “Prison 77” (2022) directed by Alberto Rodríguez

May 28 - Portugal - Salgueiro Maia (2022) directed by Sérgio Graciano

May 30 - Peru - “La pena máxima” (2022) directed by Michel Gómez

June 4 - Cuba - Habanastation (2011) directed by Ian Padrón

All films are going to be screened in their original language with English or Greek subtitles. Free admission.
