Letter from Sinn Féin National Chairperson to the Nobel Peace Jury.
Elected representatives of Sinn Féin support the nomination of the Cuban medical brigades.
Dublin, October 8th, 2020. The Cuban Embassy in Ireland is pleased to share the text of the letter that Sinn Féin National Chairperson, MLA Declan Kearney, sent to the Nobel Prize Jury making official the nomination by his party of the Cuban Internationalist Medical Brigades "Henry Reeve" for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, based on the extraordinary humanitarian service and example of solidarity provided by that contingent since its creation in 2005 and especially in the confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Embassy expresses its deep gratitude to Sinn Féin party for this noble gesture of solidarity in recognition of the humanitarian work of Cuban doctors, a source of special pride for our nation.
