Representatives of the National Cuba Solidarity Network will visit the U.S. Congress today as part of the actions that will conclude next Sunday with a protest in front of the White House.
Cheryl LaBash, co-president of the Network, confirmed to Prensa Latina, that this Thursday morning they will knock on the doors of members of the Senate with the request that gives name to the campaign #Off the list, which demands to remove Cuba from the list of alleged state sponsors of terrorism.
The call also includes a reminder to President Joe Biden to lift all U.S. coercive measures against the people of the Caribbean nation.
The peaceful demonstration on June 25 will be the culmination of seven days of activities across the country.
It will also be part of the caravans against the blockade of Cuba that for more than two years have been held on the last weekend of each month, inspired by the Bridges of Love movement.
"We are inviting supporters who can to come and join us in Washington, especially from nearby cities (...) we want to count on your voice," stressed the Network's call.
Shortly before leaving office in January 2021, then President Donald Trump, reinserted Cuba on the list of state sponsors of terrorism, from which it was removed in 2015 by the government of Barack Obama (2009-2017).
Trump adopted a policy of maximum pressure against Cuba, from which his Democratic successor has so far not distanced himself.
The National Cuba Solidarity Network is made up of more than 50 organizations that advocate the end of Washington's hostility towards the largest Caribbean island, especially the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed more than six decades ago.
