Solidarity Movement discussions continue in Australia

Adelaide March 29, 2025. The second day of the ACFS National Consultation today featured a message from ICAP President Fernando Gonzalez. Via online, Gonzalez conveyed greetings to the friends of Cuba and recognized their effort and commitment in the Battle against the Blockade imposed by the United States.

In addition, reports were received from Adam Myers and MaryClare Woodforde on the Southern Cross Brigade, which has undertaken an extensive program of work in Havana this year.

For her part, the Cuban Ambassador had an exchange with the delegates on the impact of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States and thanked, on behalf of the Cuban people, for the constant solidarity of the Australian people.

An interesting moment was the presentation by Ruth Ratcliffe, Ph.D. candidate and lecturer at Flinders University, of her research on the impact of the application of the Cuban method "Yo sipuedo" in the Australian Aboriginal population, which highlighted the value of cooperation in the educational sector as well as the effectiveness of the Cuban teaching method.

Several motions in support of the cause of the Cuban people were discussed and presented, and work is underway on the final declaration of the meeting, which is to be approved tomorrow at the final session of the meeting.
