Pretoria, 28 April 2026. — Cuba expresses its deep gratitude to Cuba’s friends in South Africa for their participation in the 19th International May Day Brigade.
The South African brigade members were part of a contingent of over 200 activists from around the world who gathered in Cuba to demonstrate their firm support for the Cuban people.
This edition of the brigade is of particular significance as it takes place at a difficult time for Cuba, with the energy blockade imposed by the US. South Africa’s participation demonstrates that Cuba is not alone in its resistance to these policies of imperialist harassment.
This show of solidarity reflects the strong ties that bind Cuba and South Africa, forged in the shared struggle against colonialism and imperialism.
