Havana, April 13, 2025 - The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of South Africa, Bonginkosi Emmanuel Blade Nzimande, began today an official visit to Cuba, during which he will hold important meetings with Cuban authorities, which will promote the development of bilateral ties in the field of science and technology.
Upon his arrival, he was received at José Martí International Airport by the Deputy Minister of the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), Rudy Montero, and the Director General of Science, Technology and Innovation of that ministry, Andrea Armas.
As the first official activity of the program, the South African minister visited the African Heroes Park in Havana, where he paid a heartfelt tribute to Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo, historic leaders of the southern nation.
During his stay in Cuba, Nzimande will visit institutions with which there is a marked interest in working together with South Africa, which will enable the strengthening of relations between our countries.
